The Journey begins. After planning, and looking forward to this trip for a long time, the trip is finally here! We decide to meet at Kathy's house at 530pm. Nancy is first to arrive. She drops off her stuff and then leaves to bring Bryce home. Cindy and Kim are next. Kim is apparently just like Kathy since she has provided Cindy a packing list so they are ready and early at that. YEAH LISTS! Vicki is next. Then Nancy returns. Finally at 545 Darcy arrives. After saying goodbye, we head out on the highway, looking for adventure, and whatever comes our way!

As we hit 290, we get a call from the car behind us. They want to stop for food. Darcy needs a bathroom. But we tell them we are NOT stopping til we hit 495! Everything is going well. All of a sudden I hear from the back seat - "Are we there yet?" Well I go on enough trips with my kids. I'm prepared! I grab the game " Are we there yet" Basically the game is cards with different things listed on them and you have to look for something everytime someone asks "Are we there yet?" Our first card was to find a car or truck with a bug guard on the front of it. Our next one almost has everyone pee there pants - we had to find 2 animals nudging each other! What kind of game is this? But this became a running joke for the rest of the trip.
Our other thing we do to pass the time is texting Eric(a). We find out alot about him during the trip.
1. He has 3 jobs.
2. He drives a truck.
3. His handle is LoverBoy (at least that is what we decide)
4. He is also a bartender (we decide that warrants another road trip some time.
5. We tell him we are cougars and he is our cub.
6. and finally we tell him we are looking for a male stripper and we heard he was it.

Everything is going great UNTIL we get within 1 mile of the entrance of 495. All the traffic needs to merge into 1 lane. But of course some people think they cacn zoom ahead and cut into line. ZSo we were pretty much in a stand still for about 1/2 hour. At one point, I suggested we get out and play chinese red light, but noone will. All of a sudden there is this banging all along the passenger side of my car. We look up and its Kim. She came to see us. She walks along side us for a while, and decides to head back to the car when the traffic seems to be picking up. As we finally make it up onto the ramp, all of a sudden, this tractor trailer comes whipping up next to us in the breakdown lane. He is figuring he can cut us all off. BUT he's dealing with the wrong women! All of us in this van are in a small area with 40+ kids everyday - We're not afraid of NOONE! ESPECIALLY when we are headed away to girls weekend! Vicki and Nancy throw their gum out the window which sticks to the side of his truck! We hold our own and Cindy follows along! HA HA HA. Take that! I just hope he is not the truck driver from the movie DUEL!

We continue driving. We finally decide to stop for food and a bathroom. We stop at McDonalds. As we are waiting to get our food, all of a sudden we hear...."Give me back that Filet of Fish" There is an animatronic fish that sings the song. Well we keep playing it. Kim is singing it. People are looking at us. We're laughing our asses off.

We continue driving. As we start to hit the toll booth, I announce that whoever is the collector was mine. At first I figured it would be a woman but instead it is this old wrinkly guy. I swear he had 2 teeth. Vicki tells me he is all mine - even with his one saggy ball!

We stop at the state liquor store for Kim and Cindy to buy beer. But they don't sell beer there. As we are leaving I see something on the side of the road. I start to say - "Did you see that cute baby beeeaver!" But as soon as I start to say it I know that I am in trouble! Vicki covers her crotch and tells me not to look at her beaver! Again this becomes a joke for the rest of the weekend!

Our last stop before reaching the house is the grocery store. Kim, Cindy and Darcy go in (because Darcy forgot her toothbrush!) Kim walks through the store yelling to Darcy! Meanwhile we decide to try to hide on Darcy. We move to the far side of the parking lot. As they come out Darcy starts yelling to Kim and Cindy can she drive with them. Well we zoom up next to her. She starts running. Vicki jumps out and pushes her into our van. Vicki is yelling at her that she's in trouble. We give her a little freedom and this is what she does! Meanwhile there is the man watching the whole thing. I'm surprised the cops didn't come looking for us.

We finally arrive at the house. Now the real adventure begins!
